European Satellite Navigation Application Competition 2016

The competition consists of two parallel routes for submission, which increase your chances for being the the overal winner of competition, win the title of "Master Galileo" and prize worth 20,000 euros.

You have to submit for the Regional Prize (choose your region):
- Anyone can submit (student, independent person, company, etc.)
- Any idea can be submitted !


Once filling an application, at the same time, one can register for a Special Prize - 1 of 8 prizes:

1. GSA: The most innovative application idea for Galileo Initial Services - GSA is looking for

    bright ideas to use the Initial Galileo services in the most innovative way, creating benefits

    for users and society. The ideas should be technically operative, innovative and

    address the market potential thus contributing to the adoption of Galileo.


2. ESA: ESA space solutions Prize - the European Space Agency (ESA) is looking for new ideas

    in the field of space, innovative technologies for commercial use primarily in satellite



3. DLR Special Prize : Entry Into Service - Head Start with Galileo Service - The Galileo satellites 

    will be operational in the near future. This means no less than paving the way for a wide

    range of applications of Galileo for all our daily life.


    Applications should focus on:

    - Early Services & System Validation
    - Automated & Autonomous Systems
    - Next Generation of Galileo and EGNOS

      Wanted: Technical and application oriented solutions


4. BMVI Special Prize: PRS applications - reliable services for a secure digital society -
    Search for pioneering applications in two main areas:
    1. Security and safety applications, such as:

        - Reliable support applications, in particular for police and other emergency services
        - Safety-critical applications including remotely piloted aircrafts (RPA)
        - Applications securing critical infrastructure.

    2. Applications beyond the conventional concept of the GALILEO PRS, such as:

        - Enhanced protection of data privacy
        - Remote authentication
        - Next-generation traffic management


    satellite-based applications skimmers.


   The use focuses on the following areas:
    - Efficient Management of Land Resources, Agriculture, Stockbreeding and Biomass
    - Efficient Management of Water Resources
    - Efficient Management of the Territory, cultural Heritage and Tourism
    - Efficient Management of Emergency Situations



    intended for young entrepreneurs and researchers from Southeast Asia

7. University Challenge - From the Lecture Hall to the Board Room - To bridge the gap from

    GNSS research and academia to entrepreneurship, the ESNC University Challenge addresses

    students and research associates with a background in aerospace.

8. GNSS Living Lab Prize - The prize is designed developers and users to submit proposals for

    GNSS-related products and services that are ready to be tested and ideally implemented in

    a suitable Living Lab.


The winners of the Regional prize or one of the special prizes will compete for the title of

"Master Galileo" - the overal winner of the European competition.


- A committee of experts from ISERD, ISA and the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Economy,

  will select the winning proposal from Israel.

- The national winner will be invited (at the expense of the competition), to the international

   ceremony to be held in Madrid in October 2016 . An international panel of experts will select

   the overall winner "Master Galileo 2016" - Disclosed that evening!
