The European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water) has issued a second call for Action Groups to close 31 January 2014.
The aim of EIP Water is to support and facilitate the development of innovative solutions to water related challenges and to create market opportunities by doing so. The European Commission acts as a facilitator for EIP Water and has commited to take recommendations from the EIP into consideration when determining funding in the area.
Action Groups are voluntary, multi-national, multi-stakeholder groups collaborating around themes related to one of the EIP Water priority areas. Their role is to develop, test, scale up, promote, disseminate and stimulate the uptake of innovative approaches and solutions to major water-related challenges in European and global markets.
EIP Water intends opening calls for expression of commitments twice a year to allow new Action Groups to join the EIP. Proposals are evaluated by the European Commission based primarily on excellence. There is however no funding for Action Groups from the Commission. The first call in April this year attracted over 60 proposals, nine of which were selected and established as the nine first EIP Action Groups.
The current (second) call for new Action Groups closes on 31 January 2014.
Further information about EIP Water, its priority areas, and the role of Action Groups, plus details of the successful Action Groups from the first call can be found on the EIP Water website. To participate in the call for Action Groups user profiles must first be registered then application forms and guidance can be downloaded.
