Israel-Sweden Joint Innovation Program for
Industrial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation in R&D

 The Israel-Sweden Joint Innovation Program for Industrial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation in R&D is dedicated to the development of long-term R&D collaboration between Swedish and Israeli industries, in keeping with the economic strength of Sweden, its technological position in the world, and with the special abilities of the Israeli technological industrial infrastructure and its international position.

 The program implements a Bilateral R&D Cooperation Agreement signed between both countries

Israel: ISERD, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of the Ministry of Economy 

Sweden:   VINNOVA – the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems

Joint Swedish-Israeli R&D projects are open to all thematic fields

 Program Administration

 The program maintains representatives in both Sweden and Israel; Swedish and Israeli entities should contact their respective representatives at any time.

 One call for proposals is published per year. The call is open for 3 to 4 months for submission of application forms.  

Application Procedures  

  • Phase 1- companies should obtain a “pre-ruling” or initial assessment of the joint project by submitting a special form, published at the same time the annual Call is issued. An initial assessment of the joint project will be performed upon submission of the  Form. The project application must be sent, simultaneously to both respective national agencies. The application must be filled out completely and signed by the person responsible for the project.
  • Phase 2 - projects which passed the first phase will have to fill their respective National forms- OCS Forms for Israeli Companies. The projects approved by the Swedish and Israeli Authorities, which will be selected in the framework of the Calls, will be financed by contracting Parties of the Agreement. The support will be given to each partner by its own Authorities in accordance with the national and/or regional Laws, Rules, Regulations and Procedures in effect. Israeli companies should submit their applications on the OCS application forms.
